The problem is, I drive a ProStar International tractor with a 53 foot long, 13' 6" high Wabash trailer hooked behind and the cell phone is set for a motorcycle. There have been some moments that if I wasn't looking out for things and hadn't already looked at a Google map on my laptop I could have run into some tight spots that would have made for some good story telling to say the least. I took steps the other day on seeing an advertisement for the PC Miler GPS for truckers being reduced in price from 499.00 to 299.00 and bought the system at a Petro Truck Stop. I have a very good friend named Rich who is from Dayville Ore. and drives for the same company as I. He had purchased the new Rand McNally GPS system for truckers the week before for the full price of 499.00.
My victory in getting this new system at a much smaller price was short lived when I found out just out of the box the battery ,after charging at the wall socket would not hold a charge even when plugged in to my 12 volt pluggin for the truck. I called the company and was told to box it up and send to the factory for repairs. I am sitting here getting ready to mail the box with all the stuff back and will see if they can fix it. Very friendly customer service has made the frustration a little better but I wanted to really compare how the two sytems worked. For now I will have to put up with Rich crowing about how good his works while mine lingers in the box to get fixed. Lets see if my savings pays off and I will keep you posted as to how things go.

G.
